Functional Skills Level 2 English

Introduction

The York Private Tutors offer help with taking your Functional Skills Level 2 examination. We offer tutoring services for everything that will be covered at every stage of the exam process. Ensuring you are as ready as possible for taking your FS English exam.

Qualification

Functional Skills English at a Level 2 is the equivalent to a C/4 in GCSE English. Useful for those who were unable to get these grades for whatever reasons in the past. By taking this exam you will gain access to University courses, as well as other course routes. Meaning that if you want to get into higher education this will be perfect for you!

Reading and Writing Exam

This is the first part of the examination, the exam will be split into 2 parts, the Reading (1 hour) exam and the Writing (1 hour) exam. During these you will be graded on your punctuation, grammar, reading skills, spelling, and so on.

Speaking, Listening and Communication Assessment

Next is the SLC, which will be taken separately to the other section. During this part of the examination you will be required to create a presentation, then present it to an examiner and a group of people who will also be presenting for their SLC. During this you will be graded on the clarity of your presentation, as well as your interaction with the other people taking their SLC.
